and nothing further was heard of him. (Floyd Lee Maltby gave her name
as Eva Ann Black).

Note. DMV. I think Isaac Clark Maltby left Kansas and went to
Port Huron, Mich. About 1916(?) I had a letter (in reply to mine)
from Port Huron, written for an old gentleman, about 80, as I recall
it. It gave little in the way of records but stated he had seen the
coat-of-arms which was burned when his uncle Jacob's house caught
fire. He said it had "three cows on it"--possibly heads of cows.
There are a large number of coats-of-arms blazoning cows--Metcalf is
one I recall, though there is quite a long list. Possibly he has
been confused with his uncle Isaac, b. 1801, who was of Port Huron.
